Keeping Cool With Money in the Summer

by Stefani Lawless on May 29th, 2014 in Apartments, Surviving College, Guide To College Living

Summer is finally here! As students begin to start drinking on the patio and at pools, they all have one thing in mind: saving money to keep up their social life in the summer. Having the best student apartment is what every college kid strives for. We are here to help. College Student Apartments wants students to have the best off campus living experience. Here are a few tips on how to save your electricity that can really cut down your bill so you can live off campus like a queen, or king.

1. Any type of curtains helps keep the heat out. Not only does this lower your bill, but it keeps you and your roommates cooler once the temperatures get unbearable.

2. Keep your air filters changed every couple of months. This allows your AC and heating units to not work as hard.

3. As your mother always told you, turn the air conditioning up when you are away from your home for a day at work or gone for a trip.

4. When using your electronics, make sure you unplug everything when you aren't using it, and that your printer automatically goes off or you turn it off. Same goes for any gaming system, T.V., etc.

5. Solar appliances such as a phone charger can also aid to lower the bill a little bit more.

Stay tuned on an upcoming blog about the best time to go apartment hunting. Students are always looking for the best time to rent and the perks of what some complexes offer. We're trying to keep it economically friendly here at CSA this summer!
