It's that time of year again, when thousands of college students across the country have to pack up their current apartments and move into their new places! Moving can be a pain and not to mention difficult in college towns because students are all moving at the same time. We here at College Student Apartments have moved quite a bit, and thought we would share some advice so you'll be better prepared this time around. When it comes to moving college style, here are some tips to make it as painless as possible:

1. Make Moving Arrangements Early - This is the one time in college when you don't want to procrastinate! Whether you need a truck, trailer, or even a storage unit, remember that a college town can sell out fast when moving season comes along. Start early and look at the different prices and options across town so you can find the best deal and not get stuck with whatever is left!


2. Know All the Details - This is a major factor to make sure your move is as seamless as possible. By having all your moving dates, keys, paperwork, and information gathered you’ll save time and headache. Make sure to look up your off campus apartment and and contact them to verify all the details.


3. Clean Your Apartment Before Move Out – No one really likes to clean, but when you move out make sure your place is spotless. Otherwise you can look forward to cleaning charges from the apartment complex. This fine may be billed to you or your parents and if it goes unpaid it will be handed off to a creditor.


4. Set Up Your New Apartment - I know you’re tired from the move and all you want to do is jump on the couch, turn on the TV, and crack open a beer. Problem is delaying the setup of your new apartment will end up hurting you in the end. Remember school is starting soon and you’ll have a million other things going on in your life and the last thing you want is to still be unpacking boxes.


5. Have a Move In Party – So you’re finally finished moving in and school doesn't start for another week or so. Go ahead and show off your new college apartment by having some friends over and celebrating another year at college!
