Well "True Detective" fans, you are now up there with the most re-tweeted picture that caused Twitter to crash during the Academy Awards. The newest crash on the internet is through the website, HBO Go. The season finale of "True Detective" aired tonight. Due to high demand, it caused the website to shut down temporarily. Many Twitter users joke that it will be faster to torrent the final episode of the season than to watch it on HBO Go. HBO Go tweeted that it is currently trying to fix the problem, but the cause is in fact for the popular demand of the show. Some users are believing that this was not an accident, but an attempt to cut down the number of HBO Go users giving their names to friends and family to watch from other devices for free. Netflix has also made light of the problem of sharing log-in information with users. HBO Go comes free with any HBO channel purchaser. The website lets you watch any HBO show, documentaries and sometimes the shows even come on HBO Go before they air on television. Most recently, HBO has been rumored to may only be via the HBO Go website and take down their televised channel. Is this a huge sign from HBO? It will be interesting to see.
